EUREGIO Power meets Battery Bay
The EUREGIO, with Twente and North Rhine-Westphalia at its heart, is the driving force behind progress in the energy transition. We have the necessary expertise to make the next step! We are building a cross-border energy cluster: a robust ecosystem that develops solutions for global issues in the energy sector.. With this cross-border triple helix cooperation we will further strengthen our position in the coming years in the field of energy. Now, they are taking the next step, including a fact-finding mission to Bay Area.

Fact finding mission Bay Area
Thanks to the rapid growth of the knowledge-intensive business community in the field of high-tech systems and materials, Twente and North Rhine-Westphalia are developing into Top Innovation Regions in Europe.
Both Twente as North Rhine-Westphalia have a professional triple helix collaboration. In both regions there is an intensive collaboration between industry, government and educational and research institutions. This relates to a unique and imaginative approach to innovation. All partners of both triple helixes support these collaborations. And are now going on a fact-finding mission to Bay Area.

Twente Board and CCI North Rhine-Westphalia
Twente Board and the CCI North Rhine-Westphalia share a mutual interest and mission to develop a strong, sustainable and competitive landscape. We represent two regions that together form a miniature European community, divided by a national border but not held back by it. Inspired by the potential of an increased cross-border collaboration, both parties believe that the regions of Twente and North Rhine-Westphalia would profit from a stronger, more unified cross-border business community. Already many cross-border initiatives are ongoing

Sister cities Münster - Enschede
Münster and Enschede are the two largest cities participating in the EUREGIO – a transnational region within Europe along the border of eastern Netherlands and western Germany. The EUREGIO promotes cross-border cooperation between citizens, companies and organizations in order to strengthen the European Union. As long-standing EUREGIO partners and economic hubs in their respective regions, Münster and Enschede have committed further into a biliteral sister city partnership. Close collaboration on all levels of urban society including government, education, economy and civil engagement has proven to foster economic growth and cultural enhancement. Incorporating both cities global partnerships, Münster and Enschede become strong partners in facing global challenges on local level to provide for a more sustainable future. With focus on climate protection through energy transition, both cities rely on leading scientific and economic expertise with international dimension.

Strong scientific partnership
The University of Münster (WWU) and the University of Twente (UT) have agreed to expand their current partnership with the establishment of a new flagship project in energy storage and conversion research. The move allows both universities to draw on their respective research profiles and the expertise of their distinguished institutes, and so doing, contribute to achieving the transition to sustainable energy. The WWU will tap the expertise of its research institute MEET (Münster Electrochemical Energy Technology), one of Germany’s leading battery research centres, specialised in international, cutting-edge research in battery materials, battery cell research and electrochemistry. With the participation of the Twente Centre for Advanced Battery Technology, the UT is contributing a broad range of nanotechnological as well as manufacturing and circularity related research competencies in context of the storage and conversion of renewable energy and industry-related implementation. With regard to transfer there is cross-border cooperation between the two Start-up Centres REACH EUREGIO and Novel-T.
