Category Manager Strategist

To role of the Category Manager Strategist is to lead the development of strategic Category planning across Urenco global operations. Providing expertise in the development and implementation of Category Plans though expertise in the deployment of standard processes, challenging assumptions and driving creative strategic optioneering and decision making.

Key responsibilities include:

• Oversee the development of category plans by the Group Procurement Category Management team
• Responsible for ensuring stakeholder engagement is of the highest quality and value and fully anticipates current and future demands, value requirements and priorities of the business and company strategy
• Support Category Managers in translating this value and priority requirement into short, medium and long term spend and supplier plans which deliver the necessary value and mitigate risk
• Coach, mentor and guide Category Managers and Senior Buyers through the category planning processes ensuring that all strategic options are considered, adequately evaluated and selected strategies implemented

• Degree (or equivalent) 
• CIPS qualification (or equivalent)
• Delivery of Category Strategies implemented in a global context (essential)
• Leadership of Cross Functional teams (essential)
• Operating in a global organisation (desirable)
• Coaching, mentoring and developing staff and team members (essential)
• Influencing senior stakeholders and change management (essential)
