Electronics Design Engineer

As a power electronics design engineer you:

• Design, develop, implement and test high performance inverters for aerospace applications and assist in developing the documentation required for certification.
• Assist in facilitating the production of the inverters and provide support, both to customers and internally.
• Participate in R&D activities to further increase the inverters performance (SiC/GaN technology, high performance sensorless control techniques, optimization techniques…)
• Work in a dynamic, multi-disciplinary, fast paced team working to push the limit of what is possible with high speed inverters.

You have:

• An appropriate university degree (BSc, MSc) in electrical engineering or equivalent.
• Practical experience in the design, development and testing of printed circuit boards (PCBs).
• Working knowledge of schematic capturing and PCB layout techniques – preferably in Altium Designer.
• A desire to push the limits of current inverter design for high speed machines.

It is considered a plus if you have:

• Practical experience in the development of high frequency inverters for electric machines.
• Experience with PCB design and testing.
• Knowledge of design life cycle and accompanying documents.

You share ideas and progress with the team to come to the best possible solution.

Product development at Aeronamic is focused on light weight and high speed electric compressors. Such compressors comprise three major items, i.e. electric compressors, power electronics and firmware. While specifically developed for aerospace, high-speed electric compressors can also be used for industrial and domestic applications. When used as a refrigerant compressor, they provide an excellent basis for the next generation of heat pumps that will be able to modulate the output temperature instantaneously. Such heat pumps are ideally suited to meet the European challenge of becoming CO2 neutral in 2050.
