From Twente’s textile tradition to a circular future
Enschede has a rich history in textiles. Whereas the sector used to revolve around large-scale production, a new generation of makers is now emerging: with an eye for craftsmanship, sustainability and circularity. Enschede Textielstad demonstrates what that transition might look like.
The weaving mill designs and produces textiles in a way that fits with a circular economy. This means: conscious choices of materials, a focus on reuse and a production process centred on quality and longevity.
