The Batavierenrace, an annual spectacle with a unique character, covers an impressive distance of over 175 kilometers, divided into 25 stages (16 for men and 9 for women). Each year, approximately 8,500 student athletes participate, earning the race a longstanding mention in the Guinness Book of Records due to this massive number of participants.

Over the years, the event has gained significant recognition both within and outside the student community. The Batavierenrace is a remarkable and vibrant occasion that deserves attention every year. Previous editions have been extensively covered in reports on regional and national radio and television stations, and the race is annually featured in publications such as De Gelderlander and various printed media.

Immediately following the conclusion of the Batavierenrace, around 18:00, the largest student party in the Benelux erupts on the campus of the University of Twente in Enschede. It is estimated that around 13,000 students gather at various locations to celebrate and have fun. The Batavierenfeest is organized by the Events Bureau of the University of Twente.
