De Twentse Golf watercreathon 2026

The next edition of the De Twentse Golf Watercreathon is scheduled for September 17, 2026. While no fewer than 150 students from Saxion and the University of Twente spend an entire day working on innovative solutions to current water issues, we’ll be organizing a side program in the afternoon for professionals, policymakers, companies, researchers, and other interested parties.

Part of this side program is the “Walk on Water”: an inspiring walk past innovative water projects in and around downtown Enschede. Along the way, you’ll hear firsthand how these projects contribute to solutions for challenges such as flooding, drought, climate adaptation, and a future-proof living environment.

Guided by experts, we’ll visit, among other places:

• Pathmos and the wadis
• Saxion’s Climate Court
• The Volkspark
   

After the walk, you’ll get an exclusive look at the challenges the student teams have been working on that day. Challenge owners will first present their problems, after which we’ll wrap up the day together with the Watercreathon finals. There, the student teams will pitch their ideas during the Dragon’s Den.
The afternoon concludes with a networking reception for the students in attendance, challenge organizers, and participants in the side program.
