You are asked to support the lab infrastructure and research activities of the group. This includes designing, installing and maintaining (trouble shoot) facilities for evaluation of novel electrode compositions and morphologies, including cell (reactor) design, (mass flow) controllers for liquid/gas supply, pressure control, temperature control, swagelock lines, and lab VIEW programming. You are responsible for design and construction of optical reactors facilitating in situ analyses by IR, Raman, Fluorescence, and Transient absorption spectroscopy. You collaborate with TCO (the mechanical workshop at UT) on the design and construction of equipment. You are also in charge of the purchase and maintenance of analytical equipment, with focus on MicroGCs. Furthermore you are asked to support the installing and maintenance of gas bottles and gas safety devices. You utilize various software applications, such as for example AutoCad (flow diagram) / Solid Works / Pithon / LabVIEW and you are the contact for ICT solutions of the group.

  • You are an engineer with a MBO/HBO level of education, in the field of applied physics or chemical-, mechanical-, or electro engineering, and have affiliation for tasks in the field of electrochemical engineering;

Bedrijfsprofiel Universiteit Twente

In the PCS group we develop and investigate the performance of photo- and electrocatalysts, electrodes, and electrochemical cell configurations in various applications, such as production of H2, conversion of CO2, and selective oxidation or reduction of hydrocarbons. We have a fantastic 240+ m2 lab with dozens of tailor made experimental facilities to test and analyze photocatalysis and electrochemistry. We collaborate intensively with other groups within the cluster, an development of processes and catalysts.

The group consists of approximately 30 people including professors, postdocs, (post)graduate students, and secretarial support. Furthermore, we have several shared facilities and access to the facilities of the MESA+ Institute, including the NanoLab.

The Faculty of Science & Technology (Technische Natuurwetenschappen, TNW) engages some 700 staff members and 2000 students in education and research on the cutting edge of chemical technology, applied physics and biomedical technology. Our fields of application include sustainable energy, process technology and materials science, nanotechnology and technical medicine. As part of a people-first tech university that aims to shape society, individuals and connections, our faculty works together intensively with industrial partners and researchers in the Netherlands and abroad, and conducts extensive research for external commissioning parties and funders. Our research has a high profile both in the Netherlands and internationally and is strengthened by the many young researchers working on innovative projects with as doctoral candidates and post-docs. It has been accommodated in three multidisciplinary UT research institutes: Mesa+ Institute, TechMed Centre and Digital Society Institute.
