As a Software Test Engineer you contribute to a multidisciplinary and self-organizing Agile/Scrum team. In addition to software product development, our teams are fully responsible for various aspects, such as requirements analysis, architecture, design, testing, validation and product demonstrations. The use of high-tech techniques and software development methods is important. The software of the Fire Control System is based both on Java and C++ and is supported by a modern development environment. Especially the areas of the Missile Fire Control and Gun Fire Control domains are based on the C++ technology stack.

You will work with the following tools and techniques:

  • Unit Testing (Google-Test), Test Automation, Cucumber;
  • C++, CMake, real-time software development;
  • Continuous Integration & Delivery;
  • Agile/Scrum software development;
  • Jenkins, Nexus, Maven, GIT, BitBucket;
  • Ideally, an ISTQB- / Tmap- certificate.


  • Completed Bachelor or Master degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or similar;
  • Proven work experience with testing and C++ development;
  • Is passionate about technology;
  • Is creative, open, flexible;
  • Is a team-player;
  • Wants to contribute to a safe and secure society;
  • Is capable of rapidly mastering new domains and techniques;
  • Due to security requirements, a Dutch nationality is a must for this role.

Within Application Engineering (software innovation and development), the department IVVQ consists of multiple teams and is responsible for the integration, Validation and qualification for the various Software Solutions on board of Navy ships. Architects, product owners, scrum masters, software engineers, devops, testers and software project managers are closely cooperating to define, design, develop, integrate and test Software Solutions for both combat management systems as well as for our radars. Currently our IVVQ-Team consists of  38 persons and we are expanding.
