Thales is growing and one of the  key tasks of this role to ensure the right skills and competences are in place at the right time. This enables you to directly impact the development of the organization and by working together achieving our goals.  

In your role as HR Director & Business Partner you are a strategic and pragmatic sparring partner who perfectly knows how to support and challenge our managers and employees in the light of our strategy. You are the sparring partner for the Naval  Management Team, where (strategic) HR topics are an important part of the agenda. Besides this you have regular contacts with HR colleagues in a broad range of topics like strategic workforce planning, international mobility, learning and development.

You are the first point of contact for the Works Council Hengelo and together with the VP Naval meeting on a regular base also to prepare and review requests for advice. . Your week as HR Director & Business Partner is really diverse. Together with the HR community we start with a standup meeting to keep each other posted and share important topics and information.

You are part of the HR Management Team and with this an active contributor to the development and continuous improvement of the HR strategy.

You can also participate in HR projects of your choice to broaden your horizon.

Thinking out-of-the-box and thinking along about cultural changes within the organization are also aspects that come to light in your role.

You are leading a team of 5 HR Business Partners ensuring they can develop and deliver to their full potential. You are also working with various stakeholders in our matrix organization. 

In your role you are constantly switching between the interests and needs of the organization, the employees and managers. Acting like a coach is important in this.

You also provide support, coach and challenge in the broad range of the HR field. Also diversity and inclusion is an organizational-wide topic that you are continuously part of.

You are reporting directly to the VP HR Thales Netherlands.

  • A Master’s degree (WO) in HRM/Business Administration;
  • Experience as HR professional within a complex international matrix organization;
  • Good knowledge of Dutch HR legislation and HR instruments;
  • A pragmatic, flexible and solution oriented mindset;
  • A hands on valuable interlocutor who can easily switch between different levels and connect with stakeholders;
  • Excellent communication skills, honorable, team player;
  • Drive to together achieve desired outcomes in a VUCA environment;
  • Ability to engage and develop teams and influencing key stakeholders;
  • People manager who builds trust, empowers and enables teams to grow and develop.
  • Good command of the English & Dutch language.

The Dutch HR department is multi-disciplinary and exists of HR Directors, HR Business Partners, HR Shared Service Centre, together with a number of Centers of Excellence (CoE); Compensations & Benefits, Professional Development, Payroll, HRIS, HR Legal, Talent Acquisition, Talent & Culture and the “Pensioenbureau”.
