Software Project manager

As a Software Project Manager you will support AWW-FCS organization and project management team – in particular the Project Product Manager. You will be responsible for the work package for the development of the simulation subsystem (called Maestro) of the Fire Control System. You will work with the Maestro Product Owner and technical team leads to realize this multi-year product development effort.

In your role you are responsible for the timely, cost-effective delivery of a high-quality software product Maestro. You will use your team to achieve this and coordinate within the overall project management team for Fire Control Systems and work alongside discipline managers.

Maestro will be employed as the Thales-internal suite for simulation purposes for product validation, to simulate mission systems for bids and to demonstrate system capabilities, but also as part of the product solution that will be delivered to the customer – to run super-imposed simulations and as a means for users to prepare for missions.

Besides this specific focus on Maestro, you will build and maintain tooling for reporting and metrics on the organization and project progress (including Maestro, but covering also the whole of FCS). This includes team metrics (such as velocity), preparation of reports for central planning tooling, maintenance of all data and tooling to support this information gathering and processing. You will assist the project management team in various tasks, such support for (preparation of) (project management team) meetings.

• Agile/Scrum software development;
• Project management aspects:

1. Budget, Scope, Schedule responsibilities
2. KPI-management
3. Reporting
4. Internal and external stakeholder management

• Project management support activities (including Maestro, but covering the whole of FCS):

1. Administration of AWW-FCS Product Program Dashboard (incl Maestro)
2. Administration of AWW-FCS Master Schedule & Milestones
3. Administration of AWW-FCS Metrics & KPI’s
4. Administration of AWW-FCS R&O register
5. Administration of AWW-FCS Resource status & Open claims
6. Administration of AWW-FCS Management Baselines & Exception Reporting
7. Administration Cost to Come & NACA control
8. Administration of AWW-FCS Product Backlog w.r.t. WBS & recording of NACA
9. Synchronization with PMO regarding Cost to Come and Primavera

• Jira, Confluence;
• Committed deadlines on project level as well as Scrum sprints;
• Excel/Office;
• Primavera;
• DOORS and other system engineering tooling.

• Completed Bachelor or Master degree in a relevant area;
• Minimum 5 years relevant professional experience as technical project manager and/ or PMO;
• Is passionate about technology;
• Is creative, open, flexible;
• Is a team-player;
• Wants to contribute to a safe and secure society;
• Is capable of rapidly mastering new domains and techniques;
• Dutch nationality due to security requirements of the projects.
