Bright delivers biogas upgrading systems, in these systems methane and carbon dioxide are separated using membrane technology. Thereby, the methane quality is enriched for injection in the natural gas grid. Before the biogas is ready to processed in the membrane, sulphur compounds (H2S) need to be removed. In this internship you will design and engineer a novel method for desulfurisation of biogas.

Your tasks:

  • Setup of process flowsheet and PID;
  • Preparing mass and energy balances;
  • Design of heat exchangers systems for heat recovery;
  • Engineering of sulfur removal system.

Landfill Gas Upgrading

Bright is already a global leader in the upgrading of biogas. Another source of renewable gas are landfills all around the world. Our upgrading technology is (partly) suitable to upgrade these gasses, however another technique is additionally required to achieve our well-known biomethane and liquid CO2 products. Recently, this technique has become well-known in the HoSt Group. Hence, in this internship you will do the basic design of the overall system (mass- and energy balance, optimalization).

Your tasks:

  • Collection all necessary information within the HoSt Group of all required techniques;
  • Create a Mass- and energy balance over each technique and overall;
  • Perform a parameter sensitivity study to define the parameter limits;
  • Advice regarding optimal configuration.
