Technician pilotplant

As a technician, you will ensure that the pilot plant remains in good condition for long-term operation. You work closely with the process operators and together with them you monitor the technical condition of the pilot plant. You maintain the plant and, if necessary, perform repairs or replace parts such as pipes, valves, Swagelok couplings, mass flow controllers, pressure and temperature sensors, etc. . If necessary, you will also manufacture new parts yourself in our workshop. You must be able to machine, turn and mill and, if necessary, weld. You report to the project manager.

You are hands-on, good at setting priorities, don’t mind working shifts during campaigns of several weeks and enjoy working in a team with people from different technical disciplines. 

You are an ideal candidate if you:

• have completed an education at MBO/HBO level in mechanical engineering, mechatronics or electronics
• have knowledge of machining, turning, milling and welding. Welding certificates are an advantage
• knowledge of process instrumentation and PLCs
• Some experience in operating process installations in industry or research institutes 
• Have VCA and BHV certificates or be prepared to obtain them
• willing to work in shifts temporarily
• You have a good command of the English language both verbally and in writing
• are available by April or May 2023 for at least one year

We focus on R&D, process development and evaluation, design and construction of pilot plants. With research and process development, we contribute to the further greening of the process industry.  For example, conversion of biomass into valuable biofuels and biochemicals, reprocessing of waste streams and chemical recycling of plastics, capture and conversion of CO2 from air or gas streams into useful substances/solar fuels, such as methanol and ammonia.

Our customers want to make their processes more sustainable and come from sectors including the oil and gas sector, (petro)chemicals, plastics and paper industry, metal sector, food industry, equipment construction, energy sector and waste processing. 

Pilotplant

In the first quarter of 2023, we will complete the construction of a pilot plant at the Technology Base in Enschede.  See https://www.technologybase.nl/ This pilot plant will be placed in a former shelter for fighter planes and convert about 5 kg of biomass into biokerosene and biodiesel using a completely new process. We are looking for technicians who will work with us to further develop the process.
