Within EurAsia, we are seeking a Software Competence Manager to play a pivotal role in our growth strategy. As a Software Competence Manager, you will focus on business, people, and competency development within Benchmark’s self-learning organization. Think of yourself as a “CTO-software” within your team, emphasizing partnership creation. Your expertise lies in talent development, and you stay abreast of current and future software engineering technologies, including artificial intelligence and cybersecurity. As a member of the Competence Management Team, you work alongside Competence Managers from other disciplines. Together, you make tactical and strategic decisions on competence development and business growth while ensuring engaged and professional collaboration across and within teams.

What are you going to do?

  • Responsible for developing and executing the Software Competence and Platform Roadmap. This is done in alignment with Benchmark’s customers.
  • Leading and managing the resource/knowledge pool consisting of approximately 50 up to 100 software engineers. Responsible for resource allocation for the projects in alignment with account leaders and project managers.
  • Building and maintaining a strong network in and outside Benchmark.
  • Responsible for talent acquisition of competent professionals.
  • Owner of the costs within your group and co-responsible for the profit and loss of the business.
  • Leveraging and developing the skills of the professionals in your team. Creating and coaching self-organized teams with complementary skills in order to boost individual and team competence.
  • Accountable for coaching, guiding, and keeping the competencies of technically skilled personnel up-to-date.
  • Accountable for defining and initiating technology and process improvement, and responsible for the associated budgets.
  • Accountable for the technical results within your team.

Functievereisten

  • Completed higher education (HBO/WO/Masters/PhD) in the field of Software or related.
  • Over 10 years of work experience in the field of Embedded Software.
  • Experience with various Microcontroller and System on Chip solutions
  • Familiarity with real-time operating systems and embedded Linux solutions.
  • Proficiency in various programming languages such as C and C++.
  • Strategic thinker with a forward-looking vision in the field of Embedded Software.
  • An entrepreneurial, decisive, proactive, and results-oriented mindset.
