About this role

Our Software Engineering Early Careers Program is specifically designed to develop you across an 18 month period of learning, growth and delivery within our Software Engineering teams here at Just Eat Takeaway.com.

Upon joining the Program you will undertake 3 defined rotations within either our Fintech, Customer or Partner pillars:

  • FinTech: This pillar is focused on our finance-related initiatives such as payments, and JET Pay (Our B2B product for employee benefits).
  • Customer: This pillar’s goal is to provide the best product and user experience to the person ordering food from our apps or web pages.
  • Partner: Provides the solutions so that our restaurants, grocery partners and other partners can offer and manage their products on our platforms.

Rotations could include: IOS, Android, Front End, Back End and Test Automation across a range of tech stacks, which will help to layer your learning of the business. You will also develop your knowledge and technical competency of software/coding whilst successfully supporting in delivering key business projects.

While working with the teams, you'll benefit from mentorship, ongoing support, and valuable feedback to help you elevate your skills. Additionally, there will be opportunities for you to advance your career, aligning with your abilities and areas of interest once the program is completed.

These are some of the key ingredients to the role:

  • Assist in the design, coding and testing of technical solutions, under guidance of the team.
  • Work on assignments, providing support to the team in the delivery of duties and project milestones.
  • Support the review, analysis and modification of technical solutions.
  • Support on project activities, including liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Write automated unit and acceptance tests with help from other engineers within the team.

Job requirements

  • Software or coding knowledge and a basic understanding of object oriented programming
  • You may have a related degree or bootcamp qualifications/experience although this is not necessary
  • A good problem solver with a humble & inquisitive approach
  • An analytical thinker
  • Ability to adapt and work in a truly international and dynamic business
  • A proactive attitude
